'Love Island USA' follows the flirtations and infatuations of the Islanders – hot singles looking for love or their next casual fling – as they form connections and deal with heartbreak, sequestered inside the Villa.

Arielle Vandenberg, the show's host, will return for Season 3, as will Matthew Hoffman, who will provide voice-over commentary. Coming in 2021 is the much anticipated third season, where hot young Aussie singles "couple up" amidst stacks of drama and lots of laughs. This season is set to bring love and drama to your screens, while creating a host of new reality stars. Love Island introduces multiple contestants throughout the series, but the original group tend to be the most compelling and some stay on the show until the finale. While Season 1 of Love Island US filmed at a villa in Fiji, production wasn't able to return to the location for Season 2 due to the pandemic.

Instead, Season 2 found the Islanders competing for love at The Cromwell hotel and casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. For Season 3 of Love Island US, the contestants will be looking for love once again on an actual island in Hawaii, as announced alongside the series' renewal by CBS in January. Korey Gandy was such a lovable contestant on season 3 that he ended up winning the grand prize, despite going several weeks without a real romance. Limited to platonic friendships for weeks on end, Korey's affable attitude and loving brotherly vibe forced the islanders and TV voters to keep him on the island from day 1 to day 40. Without a negative bone in her body or a confrontational mean streak to be found, the fact that Kyra found true love with her Day 2 partner only made her more fun to watch.

The Florida real estate agent was never confrontational or mean-spirited, and never pressured his platonic partner Olivia into an unnatural romance. After all of the girls entered, the boys were asked to choose a girl to pair up with. Carrington coupled up with Kaitlynn, Tre with Cely, Connor and Mackenzie paired up, James and Moira coupled up, and Jeremiah paired up with Justine.

CBS revealed on July 23, 2020 that the next season of Big Brother would premiere on August 5 with new protocols to protect the cast and crew from COVID-19. The day prior, Vulture reported that pre-production has started on the second season of Love Island. Filming for the second season took place at The Cromwell in Las Vegas instead of an international destination like with season one due to international travel restrictions related to COVID-19. The network and ITV required everyone involved with the show to undergo quarantine prior to the beginning of production. CBS initially announced on February 14, 2020 the second season would premiere on May 21, 2020. An article from The Hollywood Reporter on April 7, 2020 noted that CBS would be without new seasons of Big Brother and Love Island during the summer.
